How to index journals in ESCI (Emerging Sources Citation Index)

Emerging Sources Citation Index is a new database within Clarivate Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters’) Web of Science. If a journal is indexed in Science Citation Index or Social Science Citation Index it means that the journal has successfully passed the initial stages of the investigation to obtain the impact factor. The journal is entered into wider citation indexes based on the subject in the field of sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities to receive the impact factor.

This database includes journals that meet the following criteria

  • They do not let the authors know the name of the reviewers
  • They follow Publication Ethics and are members of the Committee on Publication Ethics
  • They are effective and productive within the scientific community in terms of scientific content
  • They are required to follow the principles of the company technically

The Journals that operate online submission and enable the authors to submit articles online are preferred.

What are the benefits of ESCI?

Indexing in the ESCI will improve the visibility of a journal and its citation which enhances the journal quality and its impact factor.
